We Have It All Tied Up

In this TSG shared passion event, Lindie Ward and Barbara Rogers plan to explore the different interpretations and origins of shibori or tie-dyeing. They will share beautiful examples of this technique and Barbara will explain how she creates startling and innovative contemporary textiles.

Lindie Ward has recently retired from the Powerhouse Museum where she worked as fashion and textile curator for their extensive collection. Her fascination with technique remains a life-long interest.

Barbara Rogers is a textile designer, based in Sydney, with over 20 years experience in design and fashion. She has developed unique contemporary methods from Japanese shibori techniques. She has a particular interest in selective bleaching and dyeing, in building up layers of both colour and design.

To assist us in the organisation of the evening, If you intend to bring along your own examples to share for discussion, please email Lindie Ward at lindieward@hotmail.com
