Creation with a Purpose

The Textile Study Group warmly invites you to our first meeting of the year. Trish Clark and Iain Finlay have been working in a small village in mountainous Northern Laos. They will discuss and show their story of the establishment of Women’s Business. Women’s Business provides a supportive environment where a small coterie of subsistence farming women of differing ethnicities, who are experienced embroiderers and weavers, pass on their very specific knowledge to other village women.

Trish Clark and Iain Finlay have both been journalists in press, radio and television for 60 plus years. They have worked and lived in many places around the world… and travelled on every continent. Their work culminated in helping to co-found and host/produce for ten years, the television science programme, Beyond 2000, which was screened in Australia and in over 100 other countries during that time. Their more recent work has been focussed on the establishment of Women’s Business.
