A Private Collection of Japanese Ceramics

A small group of TAASA members are invited to spend a Sunday afternoon at the the home of Carl Wantrup, a specialist in Asian decorative arts, to view his private collection of Japanese ceramics. Carl’s collection includes Hirado, Arita and tea-related ceramics from Kyoto, Japan, and is particularly strong in sencha and studio wares of the late Edo to early Showa periods. A recurrent theme through the collection is technical and artistic influence from China.
