A Chinese huairen black-glaze tea bowl 12th/ 13th century
TAASA members are invited to a special preview of Bonhams’ 9 May Asian art sale which will include a number of private collections of Chinese paintings, early Chinese ceramics and Himalayan artefacts. Bonhams’ Asian Art Specialist, Yvett Klein will walk us through the collections on offer, pointing out highlights and objects of particular interest. She will also use a few examples from this sale to provide an overview of the different styles of Chinese calligraphy that developed over time to suit different usages and aesthetic responses. Light refreshments provided.
