The TAASA Review
TAASA Review, the journal of The Asian Arts Society of Australia, is published and distributed to TAASA members quarterly in March, June, September and December each year. TAASA Review is a 32 page, full colour, peer reviewed journal which welcomes submissions of articles and reviews on all aspects of the Asian arts.
You can search for items of interest (by topic or author) in the following ways:
- For members only, you can directly identify and download PDF copies of articles of interest in TAASA Reviews going back to 1992, by logging in and using the search tool provided.
- The editorial and contents page of every TAASA Review published since 1992 can be accessed by clicking on the Available Issues button in the TAASA Review Issues section of the website. Use the list in the Available Issues dropdown menu to browse through previous TAASA Reviews. If you identify an article of interest you can then download the relevant TAASA Review by logging in as a member.
The TAASA Review welcomes advertisements from appropriate companies, institutions and individuals. Rates below are GST inclusive, and are for full colour advertisements only:

VILLAGE WEAVING IN CAMBODIA – PAST AND PRESENT
Gill will discuss her encounters with recent initiatives in maintaining traditional village silk
weaving practices, particularly of the renowned weft hol (ikat), in Cambodia. The focus will
be on the individuals and NGOs who are at the forefront of this support. Gill will highlight
the continuity of techniques in both dyeing and weaving, despite rapid changes in society
and economic circumstances.

Sally Burdon of Asia Bookroom, Canberra, will discuss how seemingly modest artifacts such as pamphlets, personal papers, propaganda handouts and maps often reveal rich narratives and cultural insights. She will be showing select examples of the ephemeral material she handles while speaking on the philosophy that guides Asia Bookroom.
